Made by young people for young people. Our group of young people aged between 13-24 years old have written, directed, acted, filmed, edited and designed all aspects of the DVD which they named Speak Up!
The DVD consists of an introduction to what the LINk is and four short films focusing on Sexual Health, Teenage Pregnancy, Stopping Smoking and Young Carers.
Our DVD, which the Department of Health said was 'very entertaining and informative', has been sent and requested from all over the United Kingdom. To request a free copy, e-mail:

We have been used as a case study by marketing company Forsters as well as Cambridge University, Leceister University and Community Service Volunteers who recently produced a good practice guide on engaging practice. Check it out here.
We have been involved with the National Children's Bureau who invited us to speak at a conference about how to engage young people. They also wrote a report on how LINks include young people. You can check it out here to see what they said.
Speak Up! promotes young people telling us what they think about the issues are surrounding local health and social care services; It will be distributed nationally to the Local Involvement Networks and locally to schools, health care services and social care services.
The LINk has been working with the v-involved Youth Action Team (YAT) members, young carers, MASHEd (Multi-Agency Sexual Health Education) Peer Group and other young people to make the NEL LINk young people's group called The Awesomes Pies and create this DVD.
