What is the LINk?

The Local Involvement Network (LINk)

Your LINk is working with local people to improve
health care services and social care services in North East Lincolnshire.

Together, we research how an issue affects the community in North East Lincolnshire
and then we report on this to whoever is in charge of the service.
We work together with the community and the organisations
to bring about change - for everyone's benefit.

Our motto is 'make it happen', because by working together we can MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Members

We have a membership of people, groups and organisations.
We have a meeting once a month where members meet each other,
listen to guest speakers and discuss issues that have been raised.

These people are involved in many, many different ways:
from receiving updates on our progress and filling in our surveys
to running subgroups and joining the Governing Body.

So far we have looked into :
Hospital Discharge
The Dementia Strategy
The availability of NHS dentists
Patient Transport

We are currently making a DVD
to encourage young people to tell us what they think of local health and social care services.
Our Young People's group is managing the project
and we have been commended for making that possible.

Our intention is to take the DVD out to other local people through youth centres, schools and colleges, so young people can learn how they can 'have their say' on local services. The fact is some young people have been accessing health and social care services in some way more often in their lives, than some adults, so we should gie them the opportunity to help u shape and improve those services for other young people in the future.

We work in partnership with other organisations such as the CTP and NLAG.

Governing Body

We have a Governing Body which is made up of 20 LINk members.
They meet once a month and lead the LINk. If you have an issue you would like addressing, let us know and we will take it to the LINk Governing Body to decide if there is enough of an issue localy to research into it further. They are a very friendly bunch chaired by Ray Waters, and they are all very easy to talk to. Come along to our LINk monthly meeting ad you will probably meet some of the Governing Body. We look forward to meeting you.

Staff

We have staff to help support the LINk members,
